EASTERN CAPE - MAN LURES TEENS, 12 & 13, INTO UNUSED HOUSE AND RAPES THEM

 Mkhwekhwe Gagu (22) was sentenced to undergo 22 years imprisonment for rape of two young girls. The sentence comes after the 22-year-old man raped both the then 12 and 13 year old girls. The accused was sentenced today, Wednesday, 12 June 2019 at Centane Regional Court.

It is alleged that the suspect met with the girls walking on foot at Cebe Village, Centane on the 27th September 2015 at about 16:30 and forced them to a nearby unused house where he raped both of them.

A case of rape was opened at Centane Police Station and was investigated by the Butterworth Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS). The suspect was traced and arrested.

The accused was sentenced to 21 years and 22 years for both rapes but the sentences will run concurrently.

Butterworth Cluster Commander, Brigadier Ngangema Xakavu applauded the police in tracing and effecting the arrest of the suspect. He said the hefty sentence will be a lesson to all those abusing women and children.
