PORT ELIZABETH - PORT ALFRED GIRLFRIEND KILLER CAUGHT IN MOTHERWELL AFTER BEING ON THE RUN

Today's sentencing of murder accused Eric Meyers alias "Ntroko" to 15 years imprisonment in the Port Alfred Regional Court was welcomed by Acting Cluster Commander Col Lizette Zeelie.

"The perseverance and dedication of the investigating officer who worked closely with the prosecuting team resulted in 15 years imprisonment of murder accused!"

On 2018-10-07 the accused stabbed his ex-girlfriend several times to the upper body. She died at the scene. The accused also threatened to kill his young son of 9-years and himself.  The child is in the care of relatives.

The accused was on the run for several months and a warrant for his arrest was issued.

During integrated operation by members of Port Alfred and Motherwell Clusters led to the arrest of the accused Eric Meyers alias "Ntroko" in the early hours of the 7 February 2019 in the Motherwell area, Port Elizabeth.
