A 14-year-old learner, who was still dressed in her school uniform, was gunned down in Motherwell, Port Elizabeth on Tuesday afternoon.Police said her body was found in Kwamanube Street in Unit 6 at around 4 pm.
“There is a strong suspicion that the murder is a targeted killing as no valuables were taken by her attackers,” said police spokesperson, Captain Andre’ Beetge.
He also said that the name of the young victim was being withheld “for security reasons” as well as out of fear that her family may be victimised.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have information that could assist the investigation to contact Detective Warrant Officer, Rynhard Marks, at 082 442 0962.
