SOUTH AFRICA - MANGO LAUNCHES ROUTE BETWEEN LANSERIA & PORT ELIZABETH

The Eastern Cape can look forward to an increase in tourism and investments.

Mango Airlines has started operating between Lanseria airport in Johannesburg and the Port Elizabeth Airport.

The low-cost airline says the introduction of the new route comes as passenger numbers and demand for more routes continue to grow.

The Lanseria-Port Elizabeth route is set to boost the local economy.

The new route comes shortly after the launch of Mango's only direct Zanzibar-Lanseria flight.

“The focus is absolutely to keep our cost low and to the minimum," said CEO at Mango Airlines, Marelize Labuschagne.

"We pass those cost savings on to our guests and try and make it affordable for everyone to fly.”

Over the past year, Mango has increased its footprint by 30 percent.

It now operates 14 aircraft as opposed to the four when it started.
