PORT ELIZABETH - THIEVES BREAK THROUGH ALGOA PARK SUPERMARKET ROOF AND FORCE OPEN ATM

The Provincial Organized Crime Investigation Unit (Prov OCI) in Port Elizabeth is seeking assistance from the community for information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects involved in a housebreaking at a supermarket in Algoa Park.

It is alleged that on Friday, 18 October 2019 at 21:16 the store manager locked the shop in Algoa Park and activated the alarm.  Upon opening the shop on Saturday, 19 October 2019, at approximately 05:55, she once again deactivated the alarm. It was at that time that she noticed that the ATM inside the store was forced opened and she immediately called the police.  The Bomb Disposal Unit was summoned to inspect the ATM, prior to any entry.

The ATM was forced opened with an angle grinder and an unknown amount of suspects gained entry through the roof.  An undisclosed amount of cash was taken.

The Provincial Organized Crime Investigation Unit is requesting anyone who may have information regarding this housebreaking to contact Lieutenant Colonel Willie Mayi on 0826975914. All information will be treated with confidentiality.
