A 24-year-old alleged suspect will appear in the Port Elizabeth magistrates’ court on Tuesday, 26 November 2019, for the alleged murder of a 28-year-old male in Kwanoxolo on Saturday, 23 November 2019.
It is alleged that at about 23:15, Etienne Koopman and his friends were drinking in front of a house in Siyazama Street in Kwanoxolo when an argument broke out between Koopman and the suspect. Koopman was stabbed three times (back, eye and chin) and died on the scene. The suspect ran away.
On Sunday, 24 November 2019, SAPS Bethelsdorp received information that the suspect was at the hospital receiving treatment. It is further alleged that he sustained a stab wound to his head.
The suspect was arrested and detained on a charge of murder.
