Port Elizabeth police responded early on Sunday morning to a complaint of a person lying on the Rocklands Road towards Uitenhage.Spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu says a woman, approximately 30-years old, was found by Kabega Park police lying on the road.
She was attended to by paramedics, but succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Naidu says at this stage it is unclear what happened, however, police suspect that she was hit by a vehicle which failed to stop.
She says a case of culpable homicide is under investigation.
