South Africa's health sector is in a dire state.With the high unemployment rate, most people have been forced to settle for the already struggling public health care.
To add to the woes faced by the citizens, medicine prices are set for an increase next year.
The South African Medical Association (SAMA) says it's worried this will prevent people from accessing the most basic medicines.
"We are really very worried, not only with the increases but also unaffordability of healthcare," said SAMA's Mvuyisi Mzukwa.
"We've been engaging in the presidential compact to promote local manufacturing of drugs."
