PORT ELIZABETH - ARMED GUNMEN OPEN FIRE OUTSIDE MERCANTILE HOSPITAL KILLING ONE AND INJURING SEVERAL OTHERS

Port Elizabeth Police have confirmed that one person has died following a shooting incident at the Life Mercantile Hospital at the corner of Cottrell and Durban Road in Korsten.

AlgoaFM News learned that several suspects in a colt bakkie stopped in front of the Hospital around 14h25 on Friday afternoon and opened fire on a group of people on the side of the road.

Colonel Priscilla Naidu says police arrived on the scene to find the body of a 28-year-old man lying on the pavement with multiple gunshot wounds.

Two other men, one aged 30 and the other unknown, were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds.

The 30 year-old who trades from a container nearby had been shot in the abdomen.

Police are investigating a case of murder and two cases of attempted murder.
