Teenagers and parents are on tenterhooks waiting for matric results.

Inevitably, there will be some who fail or not fare as well as expected.

Educational psychologist Jessie Anne Bird says poor matric results are not the end of the world.

“Family support is so important right now. Parents are often the biggest supporters but they can be a source of the biggest form of pressure,” she said.

The Department of Basic Education will release the national matric results on Tuesday.

Matriculants can check their matric results on the Department of Basic Education.
