CORONAVIRUS UPDATE - SOUTH AFRICA - 23 APRIL 2020 - EASTERN CAPE CONFIRMED CASES NOW AT 417 WITH SA ON 3953
As at today the total number of confirmed Covid-19 Cases are 3953 and the total number of deaths is now 75.
The Eastern Cape now has 417 confirmed cases and increase of 40 from yesterday, while the Western Cape is now the epicentre for the pandemic in Sotuh Africa having overtaken Gauteng.
Health minister Dr Zweli Mkhize says: We are observing a steady increase in the number of positive cases. While this concerns us, we are also pleased that the intensified community screening and testing campaign is assisting in finding more COVID-19 positive patients.
