Willowvale Police arrested a 20-year-old man for alleged rape of a 21-year-old woman.
It is alleged that the victim was on her way home as she was coming from Willowvale town on Monday, 27 April 2020 at about 10:00 at Maxelegwini Locality, Weza Village, Willowvale.
The victim came across the suspect and the suspect demanded to see what was inside her bag. It is alleged that the suspect dragged the victim to a nearby forest where the alleged rape took place.
The victim went back to Willowvale town and reported the rape case at the police station. While she was being escorted to Tutuzela Care Centre, she spotted the suspect and alerted the police. The suspect was then arrested and charged for rape.
The suspect will appear before the Willowvale Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 29 April 2020 on a rape charge.
