Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality requires a shut down of Groendal water treatment works to execute the restoration of two leaks and replacing a corroded section of pipe
The system will be shutdown early morning and will be recharged the same day should no unplanned interruptions be experienced.
Storage reservoirs will be filled in anticipation of the shutdown.
We therefore request the public to please use water only for essential purposes during this shutdown so that storage volumes will not be depleted before supply is reinstated.
Affected areas if storage is depleted prematurely:
- Uitenhage CBD
- Kruisrivier industrial area
- Alexander park industrial area
- Riverside industrial park
- Rosedale
Water tankers will be available if require. Their positions will be communicated throughout
social media and can also be enquired from 0800 20 50 50.
