SAPS Mount Road detectives are urgently trying to trace the next of kin of a woman who was found floating in the sea this morning, 28 June 2020.
It is alleged that at about 08:30, a fisherman spotted the body and alerted the NSRI who in turn contacted the police.
The woman believed to be 30-45 years old was only wearing a green top and a black long sleeve vest.
An inquest docket is opened.
A postmortem will be conducted to examine exact cause of death. Anyone who can assist police in identifying the woman is asked to contact SAPS Mount Road on 041 394 6243/394 6316 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or their nearest police station.
