A 24-year-old robbery accused pleaded guilty and was sentenced in the Port Elizabeth magistrates’ court for a business robbery which took place in July 2019 at a bottle store in Rink Street Central.
On Friday, 5 July 2019 at about 19:00, the cashier was robbed at gunpoint by three unknown men. An unknown amount of cash and liquor was taken.
Through available CCTV footage, Remano Olivier (29) was arrested in October 2019.
The second suspect, Joshua Gough (26) was arrested in January 2020.
Both appeared in court and were released on R1000 bail.
They are expected back in court in July 2020.
In May 2020, Franklin Stevens (24) was arrested in Salt Lake.
He pleaded guilty and was sentenced today to 6 years imprisonment of which 2 years is suspended.
He will effectively serve 4 years in prison.
