NELSON MANDELA BAY - ALL NMB LIBRARIES TO REMAIN CLOSED UNTIL LOCKDOWN LEVEL 1

In terms of COVID-19 Regulations, all recreational facilities, including libraries, will remain closed until Level 1 of lockdown is reached. 



However, all readers and book lovers of the Bay could use the Municipality's e-library system to borrow ebooks, audio books and videos.

How can I access the e-library?

If you are not a Library member yet: You first need to register to become a library member, if not already one. Register by completing the library registration form available on the municipal website at www.nelsonmandelabay.gov.za and sending the completed form and copy of ID and proof of address (no later than 3 months) to libraryadmin@mandelametro.gov.za. When registration is complete, your library card number will be sent to you via e-mail.

If you already are a Library member:
Library members who already have library cards can access the e-library through the municipal website and also by downloading the Libby app on their device's App store.

First-time Libby users:
• Download Libby by Overdrive app on device app store
• Yes - to the question do you have a library card
• Search for a Library (Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality)
• Enter library card number as is with the c and d at the end

What are the requirements for one to be able to start using the e-library system?
Please email libraryadmin@mandelametro.co.za, attaching the completed registration form (available on the municipal website at www.nelsonmandelabay.gov.za at link ( https://nelsonmandelabay.gov.za/…/library-membership-applic… ), plus a copy of your ID and proof of address (not older than 3 months).

How reliable is the system?
The system is reliable and has seldom presented with any issues during the lockdown period.
