PORT ELIZABETH - PIPE INSTALLATION CAUSES LINTON GRANGE ROAD CLOSURE

Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality would like to advise motorists of a planned road closure in Linton Grange on Monday morning, 20 July 2020.

The closure will be at Bramlin Road heading in the direction of Malabar to allow for the installation of a pipe section that burst within the Bramlin and Cape Road intersection.

The City is currently facing water supply challenges in some of the western suburbs due to the demand balancing with the supply. Historically, the Loerie Dam could always supply the excess demand, however this has changed due to the drought disaster.

One of the mitigating measures is to maximise the water from the older dams, recent interventions have allowed us to increase the efficiency of the Water Treatment Works which will directly result in a reduction in consumption in the Chelsea zone.

Motorists are advised to take alternative routes as the road will be reopened later in the afternoon.
