EASTERN CAPE - 2 UNKNOWN GUNMEN STORM BUSINESSMAN'S HOME SHOOTING AND KILLING HIM

A Task Team has been established to track, trace and arrest the suspects involved in the fatal shooting of a business owner in Joe Gqabi.

It is alleged that on Friday 9 October 2020 at about 19:05 the 57-year-old was his family at No 4329 Joe Gqabi area when two (2) unknown males entered the house through the front door and started to fire shots towards the person who was in the living  room. She was shot in the upper body.

They then proceeded to the other room where they also fired two shots to the deceased.

According to information, there were also two (2) children aged between 5 and 10 years in the house who were unharmed during the incident.

The suspects fled the scene on foot and information suggests that they were picked up a white Polo with unknown registration number.

Cases of murder and attempted murder have been opened and are under investigation. The motive is not clear at this stage and police will not speculate.

Police are appealing to the community to assist the police with any information that can assist the police investigation and with locating suspects.
