Port Elizabeth police are appealing for any information that could assist them in their investigation after a cyclist was attacked and robbed along Marine Drive near Schoenmakerskop on Friday.
Spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the 55-year-old victim's wife reported the incident at the Walmer police station on Saturday.
She alleged that her husband was cycling along Marine drive at around midday when he was attacked and robbed of his bicycle.
He sustained multiple injuries and is currently in hospital.
Algoa FM News has learned that the victim’s injuries included several broken ribs, a punctured lung, a cracked pelvis and a cracked collar bone.
A case of robbery is being investigated.
Captain Janse van Rensburg says the victim is yet to be interviewed.
The bicycle that was stolen is a grey high-end Trek road bike.
At this stage, it is unclear if anything else was taken during the attack.
