PORT ELIZABETH - GUNSHOTS FILL THE AIR IN PE'S NORTHERN AREAS AS COUPLE KILLED EXECUTION STYLE BY UNKNOWN ASSAILANT

SAPS Gelvandale detectives are urgently seeking the communities assistance in tracing a suspect/s for the senseless killing of a couple during the early hours of Tuesday morning, 24 November 2020.

It is alleged that between 00:15 and 00:30, residents in Elk Street in Helenvale heard the sound of gunfire. No one came out as they feared for their life. 

At about 03:30, the owner of a house in Elk Street found the bodies of a male and a female lying on her veranda. Mark Damons (50) and his girlfriend, Tersia Malgas (42) were both found with a single gunshot wound to their heads.

 It is suspected that Damons takkies were taken. 

Damons lived a house away from where he was found dead.

The motive for the killing as well as the suspect/s are unknown at this stage. The incident is not gang related.

Police are appealing to the community to assist them in tracing those involved in the murders of these two people.
