PORT ELIZABETH - 61 YEAR OLD FEMALE DRUG DEALER NABBED IN KWAZAKHELE WITH MANDRAX WORTH OVER R160 000
Police officials in the Nelson Mandela Bay in their continuous endeavours to keep the community safe have increased their visibility and intensified crime prevention operations, which include actions such as stop-and-search operations as well as roadblocks.
Members from SAPS Rapid Rail executed search warrants last night, Saturday, 9 January 2021 and obtained the following successes:
At about 22:00, a 40-year-old male was arrested at a residence in Nondlwana Street, Kwazakhele on a charge of dealing in drugs. Members confiscated 200 mandrax tablets to the value of R8000 and R3200 cash.
Also at 22:40, a 61-year-old female was arrested in Mahakana Street, Kwazakhele on a charge of dealing in drugs. Members confiscated 4030 mandrax tablets with a street value of R161 200-00. Cash to the amount of R6750-00 was also seized.
Both suspects are due to appear in the New Brighton magistrate’s court on Monday, 11 January 2021 on the respective charges.
Acting Mount Road Cluster Commander, Brigadier Thandiswa Kupiso sent out a stern warning to drug traffickers that our efforts to cripple their trade will be continuous until “SAPS are entrusted with a duty to rid our communities from these crime generators like drugs. The public is urged to report suspicious and illegal activities taking place in their neighbourhoods,” she concluded.
