PORT ELIZABETH - TEEN WHOSE RAPED AND MURDERED BODY WAS FOUND IN BUSHES BETWEEN GELVANDALE AND ALGOA PARK IDENTIFIED

Port Elizabeth police have identified the young teenager whose body was found in the bushes between Gelvandale and Algoa Park on Thursday as Patronicia "Mandy" Jordaan.

She was just 14-years-old.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, says the young girl was identified by her parents on Friday.

She was last seen by a relative on Monday in Kobus Road.

Colonel Naidu said she had been stabbed several times and that a charge of rape could still be added later to the murder case currently under investigation.

She said no arrests had been made yet but police were following up on several leads.

It is alleged that at about 08:30 on Thursday police received information of a body of a female lying in bushes between Gelvandale and Algoa Park. 

The female, approximately 16-year-old was wearing a pair of black pants and a purple top. Her hair is braided. She sustained multiple stab wounds.
