PORT ELIZABETH - TRAFFIC AUTHORITY SWOOPS IN ON NORTH END CBD AND IMPOUND 29 VEHICLES

On 7 January 2021, NMBM Traffic Department held a raid operation in North End CBD. 

The operation focused on the Mechanic workshops that caused obrustruction on the roads through carrying out mechanical work on the road, spray painting on the sidewalk.

From this operation:

- 29 vehicles were impounded;

- 86 fines were issued: 46 for unlicensed unregistered vehicles, 20 for vehicles parked on the sidewalk and 20 for obstruction. 

Deputy Director of the Traffic Department, Mr. Eric Tiso who led this operation said that this is one of many operations that they will be carrying out throughout the year as the department is aware it's not going to be an overnight job to completely manage the situation.
