PORT ELIZABETH - SURPRISE HOUSE RAID SEES SUSPECT CAUGHT WITH 37 SUSPECTED STOLEN PHONES

Quick response and immediate operationalizing of information led to the arrest of a 37-year-old suspect and the recovery of 37 suspected stolen cell phones.


It is alleged that on Sunday, 31 January 2021 at approximately 21:00 while Bethelsdorp members were busy with crime prevention duties, they received information which led them to a house in Haggard Street, Greenfields.  

On arrival at the house approximately seven men ran away in different directions however police arrested one suspect who was carrying a bag.  

Upon searching the suspect and the bag the members discovered 37 cell phones in his possession.

The suspect was arrested on charges of possession of suspected stolen property and will appear in the Gelvandale Magistrates’ Court during the week.  

The investigation is still ongoing.
