Detectives at SAPS Mount Road are appealing to the community to assist them in identifying the body of a vagrant who was found dead yesterday afternoon in Newton Park.
At about 13:45 police found the body of a black male approx. 60-65 years old lying on his back behind a shopping complex in Newton Park.
He was clad in a green jersey, blue overall pants, black beanie and was bare feet.
The identity of the deceased is not known and police is urging anyone who can assist in identifying him and tracing his next of kin to contact D/Lt Col Cokisle Mfunda at SAPS Mount Road on 082 442 1305 or Crime Stop 08600 10111 or their nearest police station. An inquest docket is opened for investigation.
