EASTERN CAPE - SUITCASE FILLED WITH DAGGA FOUND NEXT TO FENCE OUTSIDE STEYNSBURG

SAPS members endeavours to prevent crime with the increase of high visibility patrols yield positive results as arrests were made by members of Visible Policing in Steynsburg in two unrelated cases.

On 25 July 2021 members received information on community members consuming liquor at a house in Greenfield.  On closer investigation no liquor could be found but the meat of a sheep.

Two suspects age 34 and 43 were arrested for possession of suspected stolen meat and will appear in court today.

In an unrelated case members were busy with patrols later during the day on the R56 towards MOLTENO and saw a suspicious suitcase hidden behind the grass next to the fence about 10 km outside Steynsburg. On further investigation it was determined that the suitcase was full of dagga.

The acting District Commissioner Brigadier Rudolph Adolph commended the members on the arrests and confiscations.

The positive effects of our crime prevention endeavours made the successes possible.
