Vigilant Police arrested a 44-year-old male for possession of a stolen vehicle at Fort Beaufort last night at about 23h00.
The arrest follows an information that Police received about a vehicle that was reported stolen at Walmer, Port Elizabeth in this month.
While Police were busy with the patrols they spotted the vehicle fitting the description on the R63 and managed to stop it.
The driver ran away and Police chased the driver on foot and managed to arrest the driver.
He was arrested and charged for possession of stolen vehicle.
The vehicle was confiscated by Police.
The suspect is due to appear at Fort Beaufort Magistrate’s Court on 28 July 2021.
