A 31-year-old male suspect is appearing in the East London Magistrate’s court this morning, 23 July 2021 for allegations of trading in illicit products.
It is alleged that the East London Serious Commercial Crime Investigation team in response to whistleblowing, arrested the 31-year-old suspect for allegations of trading in illicit products.
On 21 July 202, the team searched Thorn Park farm, a residence of the accused and came to a discovery of illicit tobacco to the street value of R10 million.
The suspect will make his first court appearance in East London Magistrate’s court today.
