Intuition and experience paid off yesterday morning, 16 July 2021 when Anti-Gang Unit members recovered three firearms and various rounds of ammunition in Bluewater Bay.
It is alleged that at about 10:30, AGU members were searching for wanted suspects when they stopped at an alleged gang member’s house in Marla Crescent in Bluewater Bay.
After conducting a thorough search of the house, members’ curiosity turned to a partially constructed house next door.
Experience has taught these members never to leave any stone unturned and to follow their intuition.
The adjacent yard was thoroughly scanned and as fate would have it, while meticulously and methodically combing the bush in the yard, three firearms and various rounds of ammunition were found hidden in the dry shrub.
Three 9mm pistols, 189 rounds of various calibre ammunition and three grenades were confiscated from under the shrubbery. Ownership of the firearms are still to be determined.
No arrests have been made and an enquiry docket was opened for further investigation. The firearms will be sent to ballistics for analysis.
