The foot soldiers in blue closed Gijima Tsotsi operation with a high note today. The members reported on duty at 09:45 and finished at 16:00 focusing on different areas of the Buffalo City Metro.
A roadblock was conducted on N2 Road, high visibility patrols, stop and searches, shopping centres and malls, business premises were visited for compliance, Taxi ranks were patrolled, Spaza Shops and food outlets were visited for compliance in health regulations, ATMs, petrol filling stations, off and on consumption liquor outlets were also visited for compliance.
The visibility and patrols of members had a good impact in so much that sixty seven (67) on consumption liquor outlets closed for non-compliance in Disaster Management Act regulations and liquor was confiscated.
Traffic fines were issued to the total monetary value of R8500-00.
A total of twenty (20) arrests were made on different charges and from different areas of the Buffalo City Metro.
All arrested suspects are expected to appear before the magistrate’s court on Monday, 30 August 2021.
