GQEBERHA - CRIME HITS SCHOOLS AS 5 ARMED SUSPECTS ROB TEACHERS AT PRIMARY SCHOOL

Members from the South African Police Service in Kwazakele are on the hunt for five armed suspects who allegedly robbed teachers at a primary school in Qogi Street, Zwide.

It is alleged that staff were busy with a meeting at 11:50 today, Thursday, 26 August 2021, when a teacher noticed three males walking in the passage.

When the teacher went to the door to enquire about their presence, he was pointed with a firearm by one of the males.

The suspects then entered the hall and ordered the group to lay down on the ground. The suspects took their belongings (cellphones, a laptop and a handbag) and walked out of the hall.

Two other suspects joined the three and they fled the scene together in a vehicle.

The school had closed early so there were no learners at the time.

Anyone who can assist police in their investigation in tracking and tracing the suspects is asked to contact detective Captain Frank van der Berg on 0823945957, Crime Stop 08600 10111 or their nearest police station. All information is confidential and callers may remain anonymous.

Kwazakele detectives are investigating a case of business robbery.
