SAPS Kabega Park with the assistance of the community arrested a 49-year-old suspect this Sunday morning at approximately 08:30.
It is alleged that on Sunday, August 1 2021, at approximately 00:45 at Jansen Drive, Kuyga, the suspect approached the owner of the main house complaining that the deceased Milwande Matiwane (30) who rents a shack at the back was stealing his food.
As the owner of the house went outside, she noticed the suspect running away, Milwande walked to the front door of the house and collapsed.
It was later established that he sustained a stabbed wound to the neck and the left hand.
The suspect will appear in the Gqeberha Magistrates’ Court on Monday 2 August 2021 on charges of murder.
The Station Commander Colonel Tony Nomdoe extended his appreciation to the community of Kuyga in assisting with the arrest and commended them for not taking the law into their own hands.
