SOUTH AFRICA - ZUMA REMAINS IN HOSPITAL AFTER BEING RELEASED ON MEDICAL PAROLE

Department of Correctional Services says former president Jacob Zuma remains in hospital after its decision to place him on medical parole. 

According to department, decision was taken after considering Zuma's medical reports which warranted him to be placed on medical parole.

The Jacob Zuma Foundation has welcomed the release of the former president on medical parole because of ill-health. 

Spokesperson Mzwanele Manyi says this is a sign of humanity.
