NELSON MANDELA BAY - 24 HOUR WATER SHUTDOWN OF CHURCHILL PIPELINE TO AFFECT LARGE PARTS OF THE METRO
The Municipality would like to inform residents that a 24-hour shutdown of the Churchill pipeline is required in order to perform critical leak repairs.
The shutdown will commence tomorrow, Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021. Water supply is expected to be restored tomorrow evening.
A critical joint fail will be repaired using a specialized seal. One of the two pipelines will be isolated which means the output will be reduced however, water will still be entering the supply zones.
Storage reservoirs will be filled and we anticipate that bulk water supply to be restored prior to storage levels being depleted.
We urge residents to use water only for essential purposes only during this period to prevent the depletion of storage levels.
The following areas may experience low pressure or water disruptions:
1. Parts of Walmer
2. Walmer Downs
3. Walmer Heights
4. Mangold Park
5. Glen Hurd
6. Newton Park
7. Greenacres
8. Parts of Cotsworld
9. Parts of Schauderville
10. Linkside
11. Mill Park
12. Parts of Central

17. Sydenham
18. Central
19. Parts of Gelvandale
