Police in Gqeberha are urging residents to be on the lookout for aluminium diesel tanks which were stolen in a hijacking on Thursday afternoon, 9 December 2021 in Markman.

It is alleged that at about 15:40, on the mentioned date, a white Hino truck was hijacked by a group of about 10 armed suspects on the N2 off ramp, Addo Road in Markman.

The truck was later found abandoned in Old Uitenhage Road. The cargo of 16 pallets of aluminium diesel tanks were stolen.

The value of the tanks is not known at this stage. Investigations continue.
