NELSON MANDELA BAY - LATEST MUNICIPALITY WATER SHUTDOWN TO AFFECT LARGE PARTS OF GQEBERHA

EMERGENCY WATER SUPPLY SHUTDOWN REQUIRED TO REPAIR THE MOTHERWELL / CHELSEA BURST PIPELINE



Residents are hereby notified that on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, there will be a planned water shutdown on the Motherwell / Chelsea bulk water pipeline. 

This will allow teams to repair the burst on the 700mm pipeline. 

The scheduled shutdown will begin at 06:00.

Water disruptions may occur between Nooitgedagt Water Treatment Works and the  Chelsea Reservoir as a result of the work being carried out on the pipeline. 

At the moment, reservoir levels are currently stable. We ask that residents continue to conserve water and avoid stockpiling in order to minimise the risk of water disruptions. 

The following areas may experience low pressure or intermittent water supply:

    5.Parsonsvlei / Westbrook
    6.Morningside
    7.Kabega Park 
    8.Sherwood
    9.Westering 
    10.Cotswold

    13.Parts of Schauderville
    14.Framesby
    15. Sunridge Park
    16.Parts of Lorraine
    17.Parts of Theescombe
    18.Kamma Park
    19.Bethelsdorp
    20.Aspen Heights

Water tanker positions will be advertised on the Municipal website, social media pages and can also be inquired about by calling the Service Delivery Call Centre at 0800 20 5050.
