Jemsana Qhamani (31), appeared in the Uitenhage Regional Court on charges of conspiring with others to commit fraud and inciting another to commit fraud to the value of R5.5 million.
Qhamani approached a bank official in Uitenhage on the 25 August 2018 to unlawfully issue him with a temporary bank card of the Bank’s client without the permission or knowledge of the bank account holder.
The matter was reported to the authorities for investigation which led to his arrest in December 2019.
The court found him guilty on both charges and he was sentenced to a fine of R10 000-00 or to undergo imprisonment of 11 months on 20 January 2022.
