KARIEGA - WITNESSES SOUGHT IN KWANOBUHLE 2019 MOB JUSTICE MURDER INCIDENT

Police in Kwanobuhle is seeking the community’s assistance in a murder case that took place on 22 December 2019 in Sobukwe Street.

It is alleged that on the mentioned date at about 04:15, the owner of the house was awoken by the sound of breaking glass.  

Upon investigation, he found an unknown male in the house. 

Upon seeing the owner, the suspect fled through the window. 

The owner contacted the police and while waiting for the police to arrive, a neighbour alerted him that the community was assaulting someone in the street. 

The owner identified the person as the same person that had broken into his house.

The body of Thembalethu Mlilwana (27) was later found by police lying in the street, allegedly beaten to death by the community.    

A case of murder is under investigation and detectives are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the assault on Mlilwana or may have any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects involved in the murder to contact the investigating officer at SAPS Kwanobuhle, Detective Warrant Officer Shaun Leonard on 071 687 2800 on 041 978 8841 or Crime Stop 08600 10111.  Callers may remain anonymous and all information will be treated confidentially.
