NELSON MANDELA BAY - NEXT OF KIN SOUGHT FOR DECOMPOSED BODY OF ELDERLY MAN FOUND NEAR DEAL PARTY RAILWAY LINE

Detectives in Gqeberha are seeking the communities assistance in tracing the next of kin of two men who died in separate incidents in November and December 2021 respectively.

In the first case, the decomposed body of an unknown adult black male was found on 10 November 2021, in bushes under a bridge next to the railway line in Grahamstown Road in Deal Party. According to police information, a security officer was patrolling the area on foot when he stumbled on the body which was already in the advanced stage of decomposition. The deceased is believed to be an elderly person approximately 70 years old. At the time of his death, he was wearing a check jersey. Colour of pants is unknown. His black pair of shoes was found lying next to him.

An inquest docket is being investigated by D/Sgt Gavin Scheepers at SAPS Mount Road. Anyone who can assist in identifying him or may know of his next of kin or may know of any person who may have been missing for a while is asked to contact D/Sgt Scheepers on 073 930 9272.

In the second case, on the 13 December 2021 at about 08:15, the skeleton of an unknown adult was found in bushes in Nyamazana area near Joe Slovo. According to investigation, it is suspected that the deceased was burnt as the skeleton was covered with charred tyres. The race and sex could not be determined due to the extensive burns and the advanced decomposition of the body.

Likewise, D/Constable Phumliza Nqinana of SAPS Kwadwesi is seeking the next of kin or anyone who may know of any person who may have been missing for a while is asked to contact D/Const Nqinana on 071 362 8707 or SAPS Kwadwesi on 041 405 4723. A case of murder is under investigation.

SAPS
