Nooitgedagt Phase 3:
The shutdown has commenced this morning and progress has been good. The positions where a valve and tee piece are to be installed are already prepared with the removal of the bend. The new valve is being installed and thereafter, the installation of the tee piece will follow.
The major shutdown for the tie in is nearing completion at Nooitgedagt Water Treatment Works. This will allow water to be pumping in the next two to three hours to fill up the system.
Once sufficient pressure is built up, Motherwell Booster Pump Station will be started and thereafter, Stanford Road Booster Pump Station will be started.
KwaNobuhle Pump Station:
The valve and tee installation progress at KwaNobuhle Pump Station next to Chelsea Reservoir has progressed well. Welding, bolting and repairs to the lining top will follow.
Bethelsdorp Off Take Meter:
The pipes have been cut and the meter and valve is being prepared for installation.
