Thousands of excited athletes and supporters have braved rainy weather in Nelson Mandela Bay's Gqeberha to be part of the 17th edition of the ISUZU IRONMAN African Championship.
The professional women and men athletes kicked off the day's action with a swim at King's Beach at 7am.
NMBM Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture Portfolio Head, Cllr Bassie Kamana welcomed the local and international athletes to the City and wished them well for the day ahead.
