An intelligence driven operation led to the arrest of eight suspects and the recovery of illicit drugs from three houses in Aberdeen on Friday night, 17 February 2023.
It is alleged that on the mentioned date, a multi-disciplinary team executed search warrants at the houses suspected to be selling/dealing in drugs.
At the first house in Thembalesizwe, police seized 25 grams of crystal meth (tik) and 600 tik straws.
A 26-year-old man was arrested for dealing in drugs.
A second house was targeted in Lotusville area, Aberdeen, where police seized 10 tik straws, ten bompies of dagga, a scale, 19 tik lollies and R 1 552 cash.
A 50-year-old man was nabbed for dealing in drugs.
Also, in Lotusville, police arrested a 36-year-old man in possession of a tik straw and a quarter of a mandrax tablet. He was charged for possession of crystal meth and mandrax.
During an operation, police also confiscated illegal concoction of beer found at a house in Thembalisizwe area.
A 23-year-old was fined R 1000 for contravening the Liquor Act. Concoction was confiscated and later destroyed.
Four other people were arrested for drunk and disorderly behaviour.
