Relentless efforts by SAPS Keiskamahoek detectives in tracking and tracing a double murder suspect paid off when the 34-year-old male was arrested today, 05 March 2023, in the Gwili Gwil locality.
It is alleged that on 4 March 2023 at about 06:00, the son of an elderly 74-year-old woman arrived home and could not find his mother and his 19 year old sister.
He immediately alerted police and a search was conducted in the area for the missing women.
They were found tied with a rope and murdered.
Motive for the killings is unknown at this stage.
A manhunt was immediately launched and an extensive search started for the suspect.
At about 12:00, today the suspect was arrested.
He is detained for the double murder and is expected to appear in the Keiskamahoek magistrate court on Monday, 06 March 2023
