SAPS Humansdorp detectives are seeking the communities’ assistance in tracing the next of kin of a man who died in a fire during the early hours of Saturday morning, 06 May 2023 in Kwanomzamo.
It is alleged that at about 03:30 on the mentioned date, neighbours woke up to the smell of smoke. When they went to investigate, they found the house near the Golf course in Kwanomzamo was already gutted in fire.
The body of a 23-year-old male was found inside the burnt out house.
Neighbours allege that the deceased is not from the area and is from Butterworth.
The address of the next of kin is unknown.
The deceased was known as Nkosoxolo Katikati.
An inquest docket is opened for further investigation.
Police are urgently trying to trace his family and is appealing to anyone who can assist to contact SAPS Humansdorp, Detective Warrant Officer Corne Smit on 082 441 7613 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or the nearest police station.
