GRAHAMSTOWN - ANOTHER 2 RHINO HAVE BEEN KILLED

Another two rhino have been killed in the Eastern Cape, this time at a game farm outside Grahamstown.

A cow and her calf were shot dead, bringing the number of animals killed in the province since the start of the year to 13.

Three rhinos were butchered for their horns in a game reserve near Port Elizabeth last week.

On Monday, Bingo, one of the three rhinos that were de-horned at Kariega Game Reserve's was put down after it fell in a river.

The white rhino bull sustained serious injuries in a rhino poaching incident last week.

Reserve owner, Nick Fox says the rhino was in agony.  "We then discovered that he had become blind in both eyes and unfortunately because of that he couldn't see that pathways that we've cut for him."

Conservationists have expressed alarm at the rising number of poaching in the Eastern Cape.
