MTHATHA - MANHUNT LAUNCHED FOR DOUBLE MURDER SUSPECTS

Eastern Cape police were on Friday still searching for the killers of a taxi boss and his wife who were killed outside their home in Mthatha earlier this week.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela, said the couple were identified as taxi boss, Mendu Stoyile, 64, and his 56-year-old wife Thembisa.

Fatyela said that both husband and wife sustained gunshot wounds to their upper body and died in their driveway at Mqube extention on Wednesday evening.

He said the couple were killed in their driveway as the husband got out of the vehicle to open the gate.

The suspects fled in a Cheverolet sedan.

Fatyela said at this stage it was unclear how many suspects were involved in the shooting.
