Two suspects aged 20 and 28 years old are in police custody after being arrested at two separate hospitals in the Nelson Mandela Metro.
Both suspects were receiving treatment for a gunshot wounds to their arm. The second suspect was arrested at about 10:30 Sunday
morning at the hospital while the first suspect was arrested last night.
It is alleged that the suspects are possibly linked to three separate shooting incidents which took place last night, 5 November 2016, in the Bethelsdorp area.
At about 22:30, the complainant (23) was sleeping in her Briggs Road house with her boyfriend when the back door was kicked in and suspects started firing through the closed bedroom door. The complainant sustained a gunshot wound to her leg. Cases of attempted murder are under investigation.
In the second incident, the complainant (46) was sleeping in his Gloxina Street house in Bethelsdorp when he was awakened by shots been fired at his house. No injuries were sustained however police are investigating cases of attempted murder.
In the third incident, during the early hours of this morning, 6 November 2016 at about 01:30, the complainant (23) was sleeping with his two brothers in their Bellflower Street house when shots were fired at their house. No injuries and 3 counts of attempted murder is opened.
They are expected to appear in court soon.
