EASTERN CAPE - EC POLICE OPERATIONS SEES MURDER & ASSAULT SUSPECTS CAUGHT & ILLEGAL LIQUOR CONFISCATED

A 35-year-old man who was a wanted suspect on two counts of attempted murder that occurred at Lusasa Street in Ngangelizwe in May this year where he allegedly shot and injured two men accusing them of stealing his cellphone was arrested at Waterfall Park in Ngangelizwe. He was found in possession of a 9mm Taurus pistol with 07 rounds of ammunition.
Three men, aged between 18 and 22 years, who were wanted suspects for Business Burglary that occurred at a tavern in Orange Groove in May this year where a large quantity of liquor was stolen were arrested today at the same locality.
A 23-year-old woman who was wanted for Housebreaking and theft where she allegedly stole her boyfriend's clothing in Tyumbu at the beginning of this month was arrested at the same locality.
A 62-year-old man who was a wanted suspect for allegedly assaulting and injuring a 26-year-old man at Dakana Street in New Brighton in May this year was arrested at the same locality.
Liquor outlets were visited where body searches were conducted and several knives were confiscated so as to curb murders, attempted murders and assault GBH. One illegal liquor outlet was closed down and liquor was confiscated.
The Acting Cluster Commander, Brigadier Mandlakhe Twala applauded and commended all the operators for all the successes.
