EASTERN CAPE - LIFELESS BODY OF ELDERLY MAN FOUND WITH HEAD INJURIES ON R330, BAKKIE MISSING

Police were summoned to a scene of a lifeless body of a man found with head injuries about a kilometre away from route R330 in Humansdorp this morning.

Police seek public’s assistance in solving a murder case after the body of a 69-year-old man was found with head injuries in the open space, Humansdorp on Sunday, 09 February 2020 around 06:40am, approximately a kilometre away from route R330  that is connecting Humansdorp and St Francis Bay.

The deceased was wearing a light blue t-shirt, and a pair of blue jeans.

The deceased (69) is from Humansdorp, his relatives alleged that he left home on Sunday, 8 February 2020 at 11am, driving his grey Ford Ranger with a registration number DXT 872 EC. Vehicle still missing.

At this stage, a motive for the murder is not clear. Police are urging anyone who might be able to assist with any information about the case or whereabouts of the suspect/s is requested to contact the investigating officer, Detective Warrant Officer Zuan Nepgen on 082 441 7613 or Crime Stop 08600 10111.
