PORT ELIZABETH - FOUL PLAY SUSPECTED AFTER WOMAN'S BODY DISCOVERED IN MISSIONVALE SALT PANS WITH MULTIPLE STAB WOUNDS


Police in Port Elizabeth were summoned to the salt pans in Missionvale on Friday where the body of a partially dressed woman was found.

Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says the woman was wearing a black gown with no underwear and had sustained multiple stab wounds and bruises.

She says they now need the assistance of the public to come forward with any information that could help them identify the victim.

The victim, who is coloured, is believed to be in her early twenties.

Naidu says she was wearing black pump shoes and also had an olive green scarf/cloth around her neck.

The body was discovered shortly before 8 am on Friday.
